About Katie Moore
How do I define ‘success’?
I think success should be synonymous with happiness rather than with affluence. It's only when you find satisfaction with what you're doing and don't dread facing every new day, that you are really successful.
When you can move in an environment that pleases you, and when you feel at ease with the ones you deal with on a daily base; when you feel loved, cared for, understood, and valued in what you do, and you don't have to switch personalities from one location to another: that's when you've really attained success. When you see that you make a difference, if only in one person's life; when you are confronted with gratitude, not only from others toward you, but from your self to your inner-self: that's when you are a real winner.
What is my greatest achievement?
I am mother to Antonia, a responsible, beautiful, intelligent 25 year old daughter who has given me my first grand child this year, Grace. Not only is Antonia a normal, happy and healthy individual, but she has sparks in her eyes, fire in her belly and sunshine in her heart. She is an inspiration to people who meet her and she is a natural motivator, team play and leader……. Altogether, I reckon quite an achievement!!!
What has been mybiggest obstacle, and how did I overcome it?
Being a single female parent trying to have a successful career and become a successful business woman in a predominantly male orientated business society. I made doubly sure that I worked twice as hard as anybody else without telling anyone and never took sick days. I made very good arrangements for childcare, but am extremely lucky to have a great family who looked after my daughter every Easter, Christmas, half-term and most of the summer holidays!
Having obstacles to overcome only increased my sense of determination to “get to the top” and to achieve the best I could in whatever I did.
Who or what has been my inspiration?
My mum and dad, who many years ago ran their own business, built our own house, grew our own food and brought up 6 children - they live today to tell the tale, with happiness in their hearts!
